CJCC Engage is a group of community and justice leaders committed to working together to address local issues, improve community wellbeing, and advocate for racially ethical policies that improve public safety and justice.

What is community engagement? why is it important?

Community engagement is a fundamental component of justice systems reform. It is an approach to policy deliberation that promotes community among justice and municipal stakeholders and those directly and indirectly affected by system policies and practices. Community engagement strives to bring these divergent groups into meaningful interaction and alignment to serve the common goal of creating and maintaining a more equitable system of justice.
