Population Projection Study for Correctional Facilities in East Baton Rouge Parish

JFA Institute conducted a study that depicts a ten-year projection of the East Baton Rouge Parish (EBR) adult jail population as well as a projection of the Parish’s juvenile facility.

2025 Community Warrant Resolution Clinic

CJCC collaborated with several local courts including the 19th JDC, Baton Rouge City Court, East Baton Rouge Parish Family Court, Zachary City Court, and Baker City Court to put together a community wide warrant resolution day, where individuals could come and get their bench warrants recalled without penalty or charge. The JFA Institute conducted a report that outlines the data revealing that most individuals released on pretrial status were not rebooked into jail, and the ones who were rarely returned with a violent crime charge.

East Baton Rouge Parish on Addressing COVID-19 in our Local Justice System

Ending the overuse of jails is critical work that must continue—both in this current public health emergency and in the long-term. East Baton Rouge Parish plans to build upon several initiatives that were implemented during the COVID-19 response which have proven beneficial to reducing the inmate population and increasing case processing efficiencies while maintaining public safety.
